I don’t have ed12 personal experience to have a genuine opinion either way. Light metering works well but autofocus needs to be turned off.

Klaus runs a pretty tight ship, and is pretty passionate about having the discourse be ‘meaningful. The EF 12 II meets all my current macro demands. Voltages are different its true. They seem a bit overpriced for what they are – spacers between the lens and body.

All auto exposure features on the lens coupled to the extension tube work normally, and focusing is best done through varying your distance to the subject and fine focusing manually.
Although this type photography is tripod and manual focus recommended, I use the combination outside mostly off hand and automatic with no problem.
