It describes a difficult childhood with an unbelievably cruel and thoughtless mother. First, she has to work in jobs she doesn’t want just because she has to earn a living and a roof over her head.
I love stories of survival and this was just that. She’s loved by her mother, which makes Kim suffer internally and feel lonelier than ever as she never felt wanted or loved like her siblings. This book is well worth the read in my eyes.
